X-rays work better in three dimensions. With 3-D cone beam CT digital imaging technology, we can be FAR more accurate than is possible with conventional flat X-rays, and we can do it in less time and with much less radiation exposure. The great advantage of using ultra cone beam images when analyzing a patient's treatment options is Dr. de Bruin's ability to clearly see a patient's anatomy as it really exists. Suddenly, all the bone structure and how it fits together is plainly visible. This brings about greater treatment precision, especially for implant placement and oral surgeries.
